as written!
Frozen Watermelon Slush

Ingredients

1 small watermelon or piece of a larger one (about 10 pounds)
1/2 cup lime or lemon juice
1/2 cup sugar

Preparation
1.Cut the watermelon into 2-inch wedges. Remove and discard the rind, black seeds and as many of the softer white seeds as possible. Cut the flesh into 1-inch chunks and place in the bowl of a food processor. Process until liquified (some small chunks may remain). There should be about 8 cups.2.Add the lime juice and sugar to the watermelon puree.3.Transfer the watermelon mixture to a stainless steel bowl, cover, and freeze until solid, 8 to 10 hours. Three to five hours before serving, move the bowl to the refrigerator to soften the mixture. In the last hour before serving, use a fork to break the softened mixture into shavings. Serve in cold glass goblets or bowls.
YIELD 6 servings

For you MFP's for a single serving
2 cups = 1 lb = 448 grams Watermelon
2 TBL sweetner/sugar
2 TBL lemon/lime juice (I included some lemon zest)

Mine made a heaping two cup serving -Calories 159 Carbs 39 Fat 1 Protein 3 Fiber 2 Sodium 5 Potassium 569

Vodka or Rum as needed ;)

Thanks for the slushie recipe. I love slushies and have been searching where to buy one online in Europe. I have not found any except commercial ones. This is the next best thing and I love watermelon. I am thinking cantaloupe would work the same way.

Tried this recipe today and it is delicious. We left out the sugar and used the juice of one lemon with 4 cups of watermelon, diced. If you have the time, scrape the ice with a fork every 45min or hour and it makes for very small ice crystals with a really light texture.

We scooped about a half cup into a 10oz glass and topped it off with Shasta Diet Grapefruit. It made roughly 10 servings at 18 calories a piece. Delicious and super refreshing!
