Hello hello... *waves*
I have been using MFP on my phone on and off but keep falling off the wagon. Have been back on now for 2 weeks and am feeling good mentally, although am deliberately only weighing every 2weeks (as I know I fluctuate day to day) so will take some patience before I start to see any results. Thought I'd try the full website and start posting on here to give me an extra bit of motivation!
History/motivations: I was a chubby teenager as I was quite late in growing taller. So went from a fat looking kid to a normal looking teenager in the space of about 6 months when I was about 15 :-) Was reasonably happy with my weight but since starting uni, finishing uni, starting a desk job with long hours and eventually moving in with my bf (who is quite a foodie) I have crept up over the last 8 yrs and am now 142lbs (I'm only 5'1" and have a small frame, I carry most of the weight around my middle which I know is not healthy)
So aiming to lose 25lb in total, although may stop before then if I feel I'm the right weight for my height/frame. Have also set myself a fitness goal - to swim 1mile in under 30minutes.
Main challenges so far: motivating myself to train after long hours at work, eating different things or smaller portions than my boyfriend, not eating big meals/drinking lots when away for the weekend or out socialising with friends/colleagues.

Hello! Feel free to add me. This site is great, though the boards can be a little discouraging/annoying sometimes - so don't get too sucked into that! I started on 1/1/11 (at 28 years old) at 303.4 lbs. I am 5'6''. I have made a lifestyle change, which I think is the only way to lasting success ((vs dieting which doesn't work permanently)). I am now 30 y/o and I'm at 190.6lbs. ((DOWN 112.8lbs!!!)) I have a blog too - with healthy easy recipes if you want to check it out -- maybe you can turn your boyfriend on to heathier options! marysforkandspoon.blogspot.com Have a great day- and good luck!!0

Hi and welcome to mfp:) I'm twenty, and I'm not trying to lose weight but I'm trying to continue recovering from anorexia. I don't support those who purposely eat at a low calorie intake to try and lose weight faster, but I will gladly support anyone going through recovery from an eating disorder or someone who is trying to lose weight, the healthy way because that's what I want to aim for(not lose weight, but live a healthy lifestyle). Fell free to add me if you want, take care xxx0
