What does "lightly active" cover?

In my settings I put myself down as "lightly active." I work out of my home (with three flights of stairs), take care of two kids, a dog, a lizard, approx. 30 fish & a husband, as well as running my own business. In the exercise log, you can enter things like "light cleaning" & "cooking." Do activities like that fall under the "lightly active" description or should they be recorded separately? ( I do put in my workouts on the elliptical, etc., since that is very clearcut)

Any enlightenment at all would help!

Thanks in advance!

I personally listed myself as having a sedintary (sp?) lifestyle because I think it's based more on what kind of work you do. Right now I don't have a job and am taking a full load of online classes so I am at the computer most of the day and cleaning the house/cooking meals/taking care of the hubby. ;o) I work out for at least an hour 4-5 times a week but since that goes in my exercise log I do NOT include that as my "lifestyle". I also only enter gym type workouts but not calories I burn from cleaning house or cooking. You said you run your own at home business... does that mean you're at a desk or computer a lot or are you up and running around a lot. (For example, a house cleaning business wouldn't be considered "sedintary" but selling stuff on ebay sure would be.) If you've got young kids you're chasing around all day I'd say you classifed yourself pretty well... if they're old enough to do their own thing then maybe you'd be better off under a sedintary lifestyle. :o) Hope that helps a little.

The amount that I work at the computer varies. Some days, if I have a big project, I can be at the computer all day. If I do not have something going on, it may be no more than a half hour a day (logging in my food & exercise!). My kids are at school all day & I drive them back & forth to school (driving time at least 2 hours a day). I don't know if this helps, but I am always up around 6:30 am & working on one thing or another until at least 10 pm. Thanks again!
