Does it matter when I eat??

I'm pretty confused right now - no weight loss for over a month. I have upped my carb intake as well as my exercise which I thought might help, its too soon to say if it has BUT I was trawling through the posts people put on here and I read that you shoudl eat your carbs earlier in the day to allow the exercise to burn it off. Can anyone advise if this is accurate please??

Your body never stops working so it really doesn't matter when you eat. Unless you have medical issues and food later in the day causes heartburn or something like that than it's perfectly fine to eat whatever whenever.

This is a very old myth that has been disproved multiple times, meal timing is irrelevant.

Total calorie and macro intake is all that matter.

Eating more often likely won't boost metabolism. But, if you're like many women, it may keep you from getting hungry and thus, binging.

For the OP: why did you UP carbs? (curious)

So many studies have been done on this and have had no conclusive answer. It does not matter when you eat, only what you eat. Most people snack at night on unhealthy foods as a habit but that would be the only problem with eating at any hour at night.

I put the carbs up as I understand that is what you need to burn when exercising - I took the protein down a little to compensate

Ah. I see. Like 40/30/30? Fwiw I did the opposite. I put my carbs at 30 and my protein up. There's a variety of views on all of this. I personally found it easier to lose when I ate good SLOW carbs and more protein (I was less hungry and had more energy for workouts). Good luck with whatever you do!

I'm a believer that our bodies don't need nearly as much carbs as the USDA and AHA would have you believe. When I lost most of my weight through tracking calories, I noticed that I lost a lot more weight than the calorie formula said and after some research into my food diary for the last 130 days, I noticed that in reducing calories, I naturally chose foods lower in carbs as opposed to foods lower in fat. I also only ate natural fats (meats, eggs, butter, olive oil, coconut oil) and the carbs I do eat come mostly from fruits (I eat more fruit in a day than most people eat in a week). How many grams of carbs are you eating each day?
