Swollen hands

For the past month or two, I have noticed that every time I exercise my hands swell up. They get twice as big as their normal size. This week I ran a 10K and by mile four I noticed my hands swelling again. What causes this? What can I do to avoid this? Does anybody else have this problem?

Amen! I walk, and my hands swell, so this week I walked holding weights (had at home 5 pound ankle weights, so I held those) whaaaa-laaaa . . . . I noticed when wlaking with the weights I tended to play with them and move my arms much more, so I'm sure it has something to do with circulation.0

Totally a circulation thing I think.
I did a 10k in march. My knee started bothering me at the mile 4 marker - boo. but so I had to walk the rest of the way, and I noticed my hands swelling too -- but I also realized that I was hanging my arms straight down by my sides......
when I run now - or walk - I am typically moving my arms as i run and keep my arms bent at the elbows, and occasionally strech my arms up above my head -- hasn't been an issue anymore - was just an issue that day!0 -
