Shouldn't be too hard. There's plenty of guys out there who treat their women like crap, control them, wants sex and no relationship, ect.

Anyone who wants an exact Christian Grey needs to check themselves into the nearest nut house. 'Nuff said.

    I agree. :drinker:

I've been in a similar "relationship" with a man when I was younger. It's not something I'd personally want to go back to.
  • Its not that relationship style I want I just have a taste for some of the sexual acts depicted in the book.

That and id soooooo sleep with a guy if he would buy me a brand new car.

Wow, really? We're all different I guess.
  • You know i have talked to so many women about this book and they are so crazy about Christian Grey. I have a friend that has read all three books like five times already!

I cant seem to get through the second book because I keep thinking its bull****. As much as I would love to be in this wonderland and get a high from these books like most women are I can not seem to do that. maybe because I was burned to many times when I was younger but don't know. It is so weird. I just can not get into these books. It just seems so fake. Im just waiting for reality to kick in and they split up or something or she finds him cheating on her with Elena or the maid or something. It just seems fake.

That is just my opinion. More kudos to all those women that are getting a high from these books. I just can not seems to get that much into them. i don't mind reading the intense love making parts but that is about it.

I tried reading the first one.
I couldn't get over the fact of how poorly written it was.. It seemed like some highschooler wrote it.
I was considering going through and counting the number of "Holy craps" there were.

In a Turnitin comparison between 50 Shades of Grey and the Twilight fanfiction it was based on, the similarity index was 89%. Pages of text were exactly the same except for FIND/REPLACE character names.

It's really quite humorous how terrible it is, yet fill any poorly written book with smut and I guess it'll sell and then get turned into a movie (how is that going to work anyway? Will it just be porn?)

That all being said, didn't finish it.

It IS total BS but it's a nice distraction from reality. I'm usually not interested in big doses of total crap but for whatever reason, I liked the series. And I am still thinking about Christian Grey weeks after finishing the books. Le Sigh.

Not surprising, given that the book started as Twilight fan fiction. Anyway, she's making $1.4 million a month on the series while real writers struggle.

The writing is terribly repetitive. Once I got into the actual story I just gave the author a pass for her attempts to write an American-style series. You hit the nail on the head though ---- I keep checking around to see information about a movie but I just cannot imagine this becoming a movie. Porn? I'm sure there will be tons of cleverly named movies after the series. But an actual R-rated movie in the theaters?? How in the world are they going to do that? They could skim over the sex scenes and focus on the storyline but the first book is largely revolved around what is going on sexually .. so how will that translate to the big screen? I can't imagine people in a theater watching a scene from the red room of pain!
  • You people realize you are reading bad twilight fan fiction. Sigh. You know there is free porn all over the internet.

What I love about this crap is that it doesn't really depict the lifestyle and how it really functions, and all of a sudden women are "looking for a Christian Grey".

    Ughh...it's extremely irritating.

P.S: I'm* (Because it's going to bother me later as an editor. Sorry.)
