HRM: which one for my needs

I want a heart rate monitor that also tracks my distance/pace while running both indoors and out (do I need a separate food pod for the indoor??). I would like to keep the cost under $200 if possible. I'm quite overwhelmed at the selection and am just not sure which model would best fit my needs.
I also ride a bike outdoors and would possibly like the option of being able to add something later that would read mileage for that too (this part is not a requirement, just something else that might be nice).
Thanks for any suggestions!

Bumping. Surely someone has opinions on this! I could really use some advice from those experienced with HRM's.0

Your choices are basically Garmin or Polar. I have a Garmin 405CX and love it. For outdoors, it uses GPS to keep track of distance and pace. For indoors, you can get the footpod, but presumably you're on a treadmill, which can give you that info. If you go with Garmin, one thing to watch out for is that not every model uses the heart rate for the calorie burn calculation. That's why I got the 405CX, which does. The plain old 405, doesn't use the heart rate in the calorie calculation.0

Garmin 305 is a great solution... GPS, HRM, decent software for your PC. Also includes cadence attachment for biking, but you don' t necessarily need it. Watch has all kinds of settings -- e.g. for tracking run, bike, other. I've had my 305 for 5 years and it works the same today as it did the day I bought it. Garmin has many options now. Check Amazon for reviews and pricing.0

I have an HTC EVO 4g and a Zephyr HxM HRM syncs via bluetooth to my Endomondo Pro app. Works both indoors and outdoors. Keeps all my workout data in one place. You can also store your music on your phone's micro sd card and have an all in one per say.0

Many thanks! I'm off to check the ones suggested; I appreciate the advice.0
