Exercise before bed

I have heard that it is not good to exercise before bed, but I have never heard why it isn't good. The only time I can find to workout is between 8:30pm & 9:30pm and then I go to bed between 10 & 10:30pm and fall asleep within minutes.
Does anyone know why it's not good to go to bed shortly after excercising?

I think most people feel that when they exercise it stimulates them and so it can make it difficult to fall asleep.
I, on the other hand, find when I work out in the morning I get tired and crash later in the day- which doesn't always fit into my schedule, so I prefer evening workouts also. I have to add this one thing- I was in a musical production 2 years ago which required a lot of dancing, and rehearsals were at night. I went from 7-10 pm for these rehearsals, and at the end of 4 months I lost over 15 pounds ! (If the show were still running I wouldn't be here! hahaha!) I came home tired, showered and fell asleep quickly. It was the easiest weight I ever lost in my life! If you enjoy working out at night- do it. Good luck,:happy:0 -

I think anytime is better than not at all
I think am is best because you get it out of the way (won't skip your work-out)
Plus it revs up your metabolism..
i TRY to work out in the am..if not I stick it in where I can

If you have no trouble getting to sleep, that's actually a great time to exercise. All of your 'repairs' happen in your sleep. GH (growth hormone) is released, promoting skeletal muscle protein synthesis, a different nervous system kicks in to control your HR and breathing so you send the maximum amount of oxygen to your lungs and blood to your heart...after a workout is really a great time to sleep or nap. On my really hard workout days, I always grab a nap after my workout if it's possible.0
