Falling off the wagon... Can't get back on again?

I am guilty of constantly falling off the wagon. I will be SO motivated, exercise rigorously, and eat healthy for one week, then the next 2-3 weeks i'll binge eat, and the cycle continues. What are some tips to STAY motivated, even on those lazy days? I am tired of this, I want to be healthy FOR LIFE!

I'd say come up with a (30-60 min) workout that you can make sure you do every day - set yourself personal goals that you want to beat, and try every day so you have no excuses like "the class I take wasn't on today" etc. That'll handle the keep working out thing, because if you're anything like me you'll be determined to get those goals just for the personal satisfaction, and will want to try every day.
For the eating, I'd say loosen the reins on the healthy days...If eating that healthy is causing you to fall off the wagon and binge a bunch of unhealthy stuff, why not just put a LITTLE of the unhealthy stuff in every day? I'm not sure what your calorie goals are or how much of that would be possible, but if you keep falling off the wagon, what about switching your weight loss goal down to 0.5lbs per week? Then you'll have the extra calories every day and can fit in just a few "comfort" foods regularly so that you don't just go all-out and binge because you haven't had them in so long.0 -
For me to stay on track, that means planning food for the week, cooking on the weekends so I can pack lunches and reheat dinners during the week and having lots of snack options available, like yogurt, fruit and nuts. I also try to incorporate a little activity in my daily life -- I moved to live about 1.5 miles from work and walked every day for 5 months. On lazy days when I didn't feel like exercising, I was still doing a leisurely 3 miles of walking.0

Sometimes it's too much to make all the necessary changes at once.
Try making a list of the habits you'd like to change. They should be specific: not just 'eat healthy' but more like 'no full sugar soft drinks' or 'cook dinner from scratch at least 5 meals per week'
Incorporate one goal every week, or month, or whatever works for you - eventually you'll reach critical mass and things should start to fall into place
Got to be in it for the long haul, you're trying to change your life!0
