Should I stop losing weight?

I'm getting married next summer. I was wondering if I should stop losing weight, and maintain once I buy my gown. I have found a resource to get a very inexpensive gown, and don't have the money for multiple alterations on my dress. How do I buy the gown? I'm too nervous to buy it too small, in case I don't lose enough weight.. I'm going to hopefully buy the gown by this fall, definitely before this year is up, so I hope I'll be smaller by then.. but do I stop at that point?

    Wow! Good question!
I cant answer that! I would by the gown at the "last minute"... or not buy even... it's a one day thing... rent it!

Since you have an entire year, I would wait to buy your dress. Did you browse around lightinthebox.com? They have fantastic prices and a huuuuge selection.

keep track of how much u are losing on average each week.... if u are sticking with it and still losing, buy the dress a size or 2 small, continue to lose the weight, and just wait and have it altered one time close to your wedding date

See what I don't get is why you would have to have multiple alterations? I mean, every single friend/family member I know who has got married has needed alterations on their dress and did it around 2-3 weeks before the wedding.

Wait to buy a dress until 2-3 months prior to the actual wedding date and then alter it 2-3 weeks before. Trust me, most peoples bodies change and even if you weren't losing weight, you would have to have it done anyways. Plus you don't want to buy a dress 2 times to big for you because it just wont look the same as when you first got it if it needs to be altered that much.

I would definitely not maintain an unhealthy weight just to fit into a dress.

You will only need one alteration and altering to a smaller size is not that difficult.

Why do you have to order it almost a year in advance?

I would wait if you can, because alterations can be very expensive. While I have never been married nor do I think I ever will, I do watch the show on TLC "say yes to the dress" and a woman on there purchased a dress and had either 6 months or 1 yr before the date... came in for the final fitting and had to have it altered to fit and they said it was basically a brand new dress after it was done (It could NOT be simply altered, they had to basically recreate the dress). She lost 50 lbs and 5 dress sizes.. yikes! I mean way to go, but yikes for having to have it altered.
