I know that is take's 3,500 calories to gain a pound ( Or wait.. I've heard that plus you're daily eats? whatever )
anyways I have a past of anorexia and am now in the lower end range of healthy ( yayy )
I have an obsession though with eating as clean as possible and I try to eat only a small amount of sugar a day even if it's from fruit ( usually 15-30 grams a day )
but today I had a homemade piece of pie and I feel like I'm going to gain because my metabolism is pure crap.
Stupid question but I need reassurance?
You can't gain from going 300 over what you usually eat right?
( calories today were 1,300 and I didn't really eat crap today. Not the cleanest but I had to challenge myself )

One day of going over - even by 300 calories - isn't going to pack on the weight. Take a look at your calories over time. Average them for a month. You're fine.0

I think you'll be fine. 300 calories over isn't going to hurt you.0

It is good that you are watching your sugar intake. Also look at low glycemic foods. Keeping your sugar levels even help you from having binge moments.
If you were anorexic in the past, then I understand your worry about one day since anorexia is about control. You will float up or down on your weight based on things like salt intake but you should not concentrate on that because it will make you crazy.
That said, you should treat yourself once in awhile so you don't tire of a particular "diet". Like the previous person said, one day is not what counts but the total over time. I use a week.0 -
1300 is 300 calories over..? I'm in the "eat more" camp with this but that wasn't the question.
Think of it this way. If you're eating a daily deficit of 500 or 1000 calories normally, eating 300 calories over that will still put you at a 200-700 calorie deficit.
These number aren't set in stone. Shoot for a weekly total over a daily total and you'll have more flexibility.
Oh, I also love eating pie, especially nice warm peach pie.0 -
1] you should be eating more than 1,300 net
2] you will not gain weight for eating a piece of pie today
3] please make sure you are seeing a therapist regularly for your condition0 -

If she is in the early states of recovery, she may be set at a low calorie diet to build herself back up. When I was in early stages of recovery, it took me over a year to get up to 1200 daily calories on a regular basis.
As for the pie, the scale might budge up because your body is not used to it, but it is water weight. You are not actually gaining.
I also have to agree about the therapist. Mine literally saved my life. I am now medication free and losing the weight I gained in recovery the right way because I learned how to deal with the control issues that led to my anorexia and how to find my own happiness in life despite my depression.0
