Hi-
I am starting today- FOR REAL. I am not very overweight but have about 15 lbs i have been trying to shed for years. I am 5"7 and 153lbs. Pretty muscular/athletic body type.
MFP suggests i eat 1200 calories a day to lose 2 lbs weekly. Is that really a good budget? Seems low. I try to work out 3-4 days a week but on days when i dont that seems awfully low for me.
thanks in advance

Aiming to lose 2 lbs a week is not generally recommended for someone that has only a little to lose. Try setting MFP to losing 1 lb, or even 0.5 lb a week and see if the calorie goal suits you more. A lot of people find 1200 too low to sustain. I'm shorter and lighter than you, and I'm losing about 1 lb a week on about 1500 calories a day - and I eat back my exercise calories.
