Weekends Always Get Me Derailed

I have a routine during the work week that keeps me pretty well on track for food and exercise. But by the weekend, I want to relax with my family. I know it's ok to have an off day here and there as long as I get back to it, but every weekend? How do I get past this hurdle each week? A lot of the problem is that I don't make myself get up early like I do when I work so my whole day is out of whack from the very beginning. I need suggestions please!

Pre-plan your meals for the weekend. Knowing ahead of time what you're going to eat will make it easier to stay on track, because you won't get into that quandary of "I'm so hungry, I don't want to cook, I don't want to think about what to eat, I'll just grab these chips" or whatever. Plan in desserts and treats if you like, but limit your portion sizes. And plan something active to do on the weekends with your family. Maybe take a walk to the park and play some Frisbee, or go to the zoo, or go to the swimming pool. And if not getting up early is a large part of the problem, that's a pretty easy problem to fix: just set your alarm and get up. You'll get a head start on the day, and you'll have time to make a yummy and nutritious breakfast for the whole family if you want to do that.0

I feel the same way sometimes! Some weekends I am great, others it's a huge FAIL. What I've found to help me ENJOY my weekends but not feel awful about the choices I make; is TOTAL PORTION CONTROL. Yes, it's ok to have lasagna, just a small piece though. When watching movies, choose light popcorm instead of buttery. Craving a sweet? Choose cotton candy over something super high calorie. And as with every other day-MOVE! Walking, cleaning, whatever-do want you need to do to get your booty moving. This weekend I didn't have a chance to work out (moving/yard sale, etc), but I had two days of cleaning to do. So what did I do? Busted my booty and cleaned as hard as I could to work up a sweat. Moving boxes? Do a few squats before putting it away. Sweeping, mopping? put some dance moves in there! Whatever it takes to move move move!0

You are definitely not alone in this category. I find I have the same problem as well. I try to do my very best to limit my portion controls and have our meals planned out as much as possible. I like to sleep late on the weekends and stay up really late which throws off my schedule. I had a really bad weekend this past weekend but am determined to make this week better. So the best advice I can offer is pre-planning and portion control. I will be watching this feed as well for other helpful tips. Thanks for posting it.0
