Fat below the knee?

Options
Ok so I've always had big legs in general and never had shapely calves or anything other than canckles. However, I thought dropping weight might slim my lower legs at least but they seem more big than ever, like when you retain water in pregnancy, they are gross. Just want them gone.

Am I not drinking enough water or too much salt in my diet maybe? I am bad for drinking water,I don't like it and struggle to drink too much without feeling sick.

I am in the same boat... I've never had 'shapely' legs, I have always felt I had such large calfs and ankles.... It keeps me in pants as opposed to shorts and skirts/dresses..... I know, maybe I should just get over it... but I am really hoping this will help slim them down some... I'm running every other night, and walking on the in-between days....

Large calves are a result of carrying a large load over the years. Unfortunately calves are mostly genetic, so the shape that you have is one you have to live with. You can enhance the look of them through exercise, but the chances of reducing them through muscle loss is slim.
Unless you're willing not to WALK for a few years, any activity on your legs will keep the muscle there.

Hi there , I myself have solid legs , even at a good weight I've never had bony legs ,
I saw a vein specialist a few months back as I was getting my varicose vein assessed and he had a young dr learning ,, the dr pointed to my legs showing the learning dr, he said "this woman is holding fat in the 3 main areas on her legs "ankles, below knee , and above knee,
I asked " how will I lose it?"
He said " nothing u can do except surgery , even losing weight you'll stil have excess fat there"
I was devastated , but I am determined to lose as much as I can , and exercise my *kitten* off !!!! I'm sure if u lose a lot and ur a thin weight they'll lose some fat for sure :D

I just noticed at the recording studio last night that one of my band mates has fat behind the knees. It's just nature I suppose. It's crazy where fat shows up sometimes.

I had an ex who gained all weight waist and below. If she took pictures waist up, she looked like a total 8... If she did a full body... She was a six pack from a 7.

If it really is fat (and not muscle) as you lower your Body's Fat, this would go away over time. Just might be one of the last places.

Get a Body Comp done and see what your Body Fat % is, and keep working to lose the fat (not muscle).

I also have large lower legs, but I have been carring a LOT of weight around so some of it is muscle. Of course, as I have lost weight, I am carring less, so I would assume that I will lose some muscle in my legs as well.

Wow, I really hope that I'm not 'doomed' to calves like tree trunks haha... they are, I think... my biggest issue with my body image. I've always despised them :(

I hope my tree trunk legs and knees slim down. I've always envied the girls with long slim legs.

Read these posts. My opinion is that you have worked so hard to eat right and exercise and drop weight, and perhaps ur body hasn't changed the way you would like, I understand that, but embrace your body, think of how far you have come and wear your shorts, skirts & dresses. You've come a long way :) you are beautiful
