Does anybody else watch this show?

Last night's mystery box ingredient was uni (sea urchin). I think I would have made an uni and spinach quiche with a mild pepper garnish. I've never had it myself, but now I'm dying to try it.

What would you have made with the uni?

    I would have ran the other way! :laugh: I love the show, but I was pissed at how tough they were with Christina. WTF? The lady is blind and she hasn't made a single mistake throughout the competition, even when dealing with live animals!

    I would have refused to do the challenge, but I would never be on a show like that anyway, I'm just glad Tali is FINALLY gone....that guy was a JOKE...actually saying he's a joke is an understatement....just glad he is finally gone!!!

    Agreed. Tali is creative, but he just can't cook!!

    I was hoping Becky would get tripped up finally. I'm pulling for Monti and Christine at this point.

    no idea what to make with it, but love the show. it's nice for someone to get both praise and constructive criticism when they mess up. Nobody is perfect, but Christine has done great and amazes me for someone who can't see what she is cooking..

    I LOVE that show and have it PVR'd. I had a meeting last night... so I will watch it tonight.

    I like Monti too... she is a little off the wall and unconventional - my kinda gal. I also love Christine, but seriously, who doesn't!

    I'm glad he's gone, too. He was delusional about his own abilities. Being in the bottom 3 once a week and constantly badmouthing other contestants in the process.... It would have been nice if they would have cut him along with Ryan a couple weeks back when they were both up for elimination.

    As for the OP's question... I have zero experience cooking uni. I'm highly allergic to crustaceans. I'm not sure what I would have made, but your idea sounds incredible. If only I could eat it.

    Christine is America's Sweetheart, love her! Monti bothered me at first, but I like how she's rising to each challenge and proving everyone wrong.

    I can't decide if Judge Joe is really that much of an *kitten*, or is it an act he puts on for the show?

    LOVE the show, but a sea urchin???? Kinda outta left field.

    I love it when Tali said the judges just don't understand his new level of creativeness and that they are just old school... hahahaha

    I understand them being hard on Christine, yes she's blind but she has never been treated any differently than any other cook. and if anyone else presented her dish they would have received the same critique.

    I do love monti and christine though... :o)

    I totally have to agree with you. How do you screw up salmon?? And if they are going to beat down Cowboy Mike (hometown hero) :cry: over screwing up the strawberry shortcake, then you have to come down on the blind girl for screwing up the salmon. I mean it is salmon for crying out loud. You could sprinkle lemon juice on it and it would be good!!

    I like Monti, but I'm getting a bit tired of her look of shock every time she makes something. If you can stand back there and say you know you're a good cook, own it.

    Great show, I also liked the prior seasons.
    It is weird how the "simple" product will sometime mess up these cooks, just when you thought they had been done a favor in the challenge.

    I don't get why Monti is hated by all of them! She is consistantly good and they always trash talk her but she comes up on top!

    I toally agree with you. Tali just lways overdoes the plates and they look cramped and kinda crappy. Monti I think is my favorite one. I still have to catch up on last nights episode though. :)

    I watched this for the first time last night. I have watched a show or 2 of other seasons so I understand the concept. I think Chrisitina doesnt deserve any special treatment. Would she get special treatment in her own kitchen? Hell no, you can either cook or sink.

    As for Tali...the judges hate him because he thinks he is as good as them. And he isnt. I dont understand why all the women hate monti. That one chick is so catty she looks liek she just stepped of the stage a Cats show on broadway.


    What would I have done? At first I immediately thought sushi..but then I thought duh thats a given... any moron can use it in sushi. Id have definitely gone with pasta dish similarly to what the one guy did. The uni over a light noodle... Id have used Olive oil base sauce cracked black pepper with garlic and paired it with some spring greens and with a vinagrette

    I love this show. I have to watch it before dinner though because no matter how much I eat, Master Chef always makes me hungry again.

    I wish Becky came across better because I do think she is probably the best chef, she's just too unlikable. At this point in the season, it is pretty much the girls' game. The guys are either really bad or forgettable.

    Tomorrow I am getting seafood/sushi for lunch though. I've never had uni before but am definitely going to try it.

    I decided last night that Frank is going to win the show... there is something that changes mid show that starts to lean towards the winner... Idk. Different lighting or make-up.. Something! We shall see!

    I was totally surprised that they like Frank's catfish curry. It looked like a mess... and curry?... with catfish? :huh:
