My Best Weight Loss Tip After 25 lbs Lost

This site is filled with questions like: what to eat? when to eat? and all that. I have wondered these things too.
If there is one thing that has worked for me it has simply been consistency and patience. Goals are good and I have a pretty ridiculous one for this week…lol
Sure we are going to be roadblocked with plateaus and screw ups here and there but just keep going. If you see no weight loss keep going, if you feel better but see no physical change definitely keep going, if you have more energy keep going, if you are tired well, keep going too. You get my point? Keep going regardless of if you see positive or negative results.
The best techniques are never going to work if you can't sustain them. Find something that you can maintain and just stick with it. I am amazed at how easy it has been to lose weight… but funny enough I was overweight for 15 years. The only reason was because I wasn't at the spot mentally to endure through it. It took me 15 years or more of saying I was going to diet and then one day the spark was lit and in 3 months I dropped 25 lbs and counting. So how do you light that spark? Well, that is the big question, unfortunately, I do not know? I guess it is just being human. It is probably the same why some people excel at one thing that others just don't have the interest in.
WHAT I DO KNOW IS:
You have to find what genuinely sparks YOUR motivation. Whether it is hanging a picture on your wall, your kids or whatever. Look honestly and as deep inside yourself as you can and find that place that is stronger than any opposition.
Weight loss is entirely mental, if you can maintain it in your mind the rest will fall in place.

OP .. great post!! (thankyou!) .... and WELL DONE on your 25lbs.. BRILLIANT!!
I often think it MUST be like 'smoking' ... or rather.. giving up.
I used to smoke liiiiikkee aaa traaaainnn ... but once I got my HEAD around stopping..
I gave it everything.. did everything I needed to. and STOPPED it. (I actually set a date 3 months away.. and mentally prepared myself to BECOME a non smoker, still (then) smoking heavily)
I think you are right.. it IS a 'mental' thing. ... I just need to find the right mind set I found to (permanently!) stop smoking.. 3 years this month! .. and I can hand on my heart say.. I would never EVER smoke again. .. It's in my head!
Thanks for a great post!0 -
