Going on vacation - at home excercies wanted

Hey everyone! I'm going down the shore next week to stay at my aunt's beach house with my fiance, cousin, and some friends (and they are definitely not the most health conscious group). I've been really dedicated lately and have seen some great progress. I definitely don't want to lose the motivation.

I was thinking about doing some morning jogs (but i don't know the area so well so I don't want to stray far) and get a jump rope to keep up with my routine and stay active. I've always gone to the gym for my workouts so I don't really know many effective at home routines. I'd love to know what you guys do when you go on vacation or work out at home!

Also, i'd love some of your favorite easy recipes that I could make for myself and the group. We'll probably be BBQing most nights so I was thinking grilling chicken and veggies. But I always love new ideas!

Thanks everyone! I'm not going to go crazy or anything. Please don't think I'm going to obsess or stop myself from enjoying myself by going out (because it definitely will not). But 7 days is a long time without a work out - I'm going to miss it! =[

I travel a lot for work and the best "structured" workout is to use a deck of cards, assign an exercise to each symbol (i.e. diamonds = jumping jacks, hearts = crunches, etc.), shuffle the deck, then whatever card comes up, you do that number of that exercise - a 6 of hearts means you would do 6 crunches, the jack of diamonds means 11 jumping jacks, etc. Depending on the exercises you choose, you can get through the whole deck in less than 15 minutes.

I've also been known to just plug in my iPod and headphones and dance around my hotel room like a crazy monkey. I figure anything that gets my heart rate up for even 15 minutes is better than nothing.

I'm not much help on the recipes, since my husband does almost all of the cooking. Sorry!

    That's a cool idea!

I usually just do high intensity intervals with bodyweight exercises. Burpees to pushups. Power jumps to mountain climbers.. etc etc. I love grilled chicken and veggies so just stick with that haha!

    Have fun!
