What can I do to cut down on the junk food and candy? I just love it, and it's hard to resist!

This is what I eat when I want junk food.
Sugar free Jello with fat free cool whip/yogurt
fruit with fat free cool whip/yogurt
Also try peppermints- my mom swears they satisfy her sweet cravings.
Air popped popcorn0 -
Being here and logging everything has wiped out my weakness to pop just anything in my mouth. If I'm not willing to see it show up on my log, I won't eat it. That said, I don't buy anything that is not on my food plan, so there is nothing in the house to tempt me. I do have several healthy snack options pre-cut or measured and packaged in snack bags, so when I'm needing something, I don't have to wait until I'm hungry and misjudge portions. So, I have entire watermelon chunked in a big container. I have pretzels portioned out in baggies. I keep baby carrots on hand.
I do have sugar cravings, which I handle with sugar free jello and cool whip lite or my new favorite, microwaved apple slices with cinnamon, nutmeg, and Splenda. Every once in a while, I have a diet soda, but no more than 2 or 3 a week. I'm hoping to gradually decrease the artificial sweeteners, but I can only hand so many changes at a time.0 -
What tastes better? Chocolate or being Thin and Trim?0

I like being fit. I also like chocolate. I do both.0 -
Stop buying it. Don't bring it into the house. Going out to eat or being tempted at work is hard, too but learn to say "No thank you" when offered.0

I'd say rid of the food in your house. Give it away to people if you don't want to waste it. Don't buy it at the store. These are the two tricks I use to keep myself from indulging too much. I do still have cravings, especially for ice cream, so I try to keep those at a minimum by keeping my mind busy or waiting 30 min. If I still want the junk food bad enough after 30 min then I'm probably in need for some real food.
I also keep a thing of Ice Breakers frost mints nearby. It helps curb my cravings.0 -
I chew sugar free gum but I don't even do that often. I find that if I plan in treats like a peice of dark chocolate after dinner or a fiber one brownie or some jello, I'm not as tempted because I know coming up after dinner or for my afternoon snack I'm getting something yummy.0
