new snack ideas?

My go-to snacks are fruit (sometime PB with apple or banana slices), baby carrots and cucumber slices. What are some other suggestions for simple snacks?

Greek yogurt, egg whites, hard boiled eggs, nuts, avocado, & hummus for veggies. Also cottage cheese.

Egg whites, sugar snap peas (or any veggie) dipped in hummus, grape tomatoes, chopped up celery in tuna (gives it an awesome crunch) and wrap it in lettuce if you want to eat it like a wrap.

I like to go for nuts still in the shell, when I'm in the mood for snacking. I have to work for it and I tend to eat less of them. Most of the time, when I feel I need to snack, it's because my hands need something to do. Plus they're a great source of protien, which I tend to slack on normally

Do you mix anything else or is it just tuna and celery? For ex. do you add a little miracle whip/mayo?

I don't like mayo, but if I did then I would add a little bit. I know a lot of people can't eat tuna without it being that type of consistency. I just keep it plain, though. :P

I use fat free mayo, relish, red onion, green peppers, salt and pepper, and wrap it in lettuce!!

I know it's weird but I just picked up a package of seaweed at my grocery store. 1 sheet (close to an 8x10) is only 10 calories.

+Greek Gods nonfat plain yogurt with a 1/4 cup of frozen raspberries mixed in.
I like it best when the raspberries are still frozen, it seems to make them pop a bit, being so cold mixed with the yogurt.

+Tilla-Moos (they're small individual serving of decent cheese).

Tuna and celery. What a great idea!! I'm always looking for healthy snack ideas. It's too easy to grab sweet biscuits first. I keep green beans in the fridge ready to go.

I credit my mom for that one, haha. I grew up on tuna/celery sandwiches for lunch. Now modified with some lettuce instead of bread.. it's awesome!

String cheese, yogurt, peanuts, dates, figs. . . sort of caloric, I know. . . . but all good for you.

Beef jerky is one of my go to snacks. I eat that with some almonds. It best if you can find an all natural or organic brand made with not too much sugar. But any will do in a pinch. High in protein so it will fill you up.

I also like the mini luna bars, satisfies my sweet tooth too.
  • Carrot chips are really good for a person that likes salty and sweet. They are really easy to make and don't take much time.

Here's a website that has the recipe! http://www.chow.com/recipes/29589-carrot-chips

Unless you have a convection option on your oven, you might want to consider cracking open the oven while you bake them.

My sister and I used to make tuna sandwiches with cucumbers and tomatoes. Yummy, I need to do that again, although wrapped up in some lettuce sounds good too, I do like lettuce wraps!
