Halfway done with C25K!

I'm halfway done with C25K! I did Week 4, day 2, which is the exact half way point for the C25K program (I am doing the 9 week program). I ran a mile today at 3.3 mph, interspersed with 2/10 of a mile walking.

For most people this is not a big deal, but I'd like to see them do it with 150 pounds tied to their backs! :)

I just had this thought this morning. I have lost 11 of the 150 I want to lose. 150 pounds is equal to:

15 10-pound sacks of potaoes

or

30 5-pound sacks of sugar

or

25 6-pound cans of shortening or lard.

Wow.

How AWESOME!! I tried to start the c25k a while back and then went on vacation and never started it back up. Good to see you are sticking with it and having results. :)

Well done! I've done week 3/day 2 this morning and really enjoyed it. I think C25K has given me the confidence to try other fitness things as well (like cycling and the gym).

Through back/hip/knee problems I'd pretty much given up hope of ever being fit again but, over the last month, I'm starting to see some improvement.

I've lost 20lb so far with 84 to go and being able to do the C25K and starting to feel the difference the weight loss makes is making all the difference.

Your post has given me a boost to carry on and I'm so glad to see it working for someone else and the fact that you're feeling, quite rightly, proud.

I look forward to seeing what you've got to say in the weeks ahead. (I've also sent a friend request so I can see how you get on with C25K - I hope that that is okay?)
  • Good on you!!!

I'm on W1D2 today, so thank you for some inspiration! :)

To those who are just starting, just hang in there. Listen to your bodies and do not get hurt. BUT be willing to push yourself just a bit further than what you think your limit is. You will succeed! I look back at W1D1 and I see how far I have come. You, too, will do the same thing.

    Good job!!
I did the C25K, and really shaped up quite a bit. I did my 5K run the last week of April, and did it in 34 minutes! I am very proud of myself, and felt a very high rush of adrenaline afterwards.

***Also-- When I felt like giving up around the 2.2 mile mark, I kept telling myself "Quitting is NOT an option!" It kept me motivated.

    Best of luck!

    Great job!

I am on Week 3 right now. I messed up my ankle doing day 2 yesterday so I may give it a break today. Thanks for the motivation :drinker:

I'm going to bang out Week 4 day 3 today! I find that running after I've eaten everything for the day is helping a bit more.... I do some sort of class or DVD during the day. Twice a day, I'm going hard!

2.1 miles? Wow, that's great! But I wonder if I am doing something wrong, because my GPS says 1.2 miles total for me. I think I need to to a track Friday and see how far I go in the time allotted for the training. I know I take shorter strides, but I am not ready to stretch my strides, plus I walk in my front, which years back was a cow pasture. It is hard to take long strides, and I don't want to hurt myself.

Never had to run in a cow pasture!! Lol
today was actually on the treadmill...it forced me to keep pace...(plus i squeezed in an extra 60 second jog during the cool down)...did my jogs @ 5.5 which may be too fast for me especially in the next few weeks when intervals increase

Everyone has their own pace...I remember last year when I tried the whole lose weight get fit thing...I would go walking/jogging with friends and I would get so discouraged because I couldn't keep up...so I would just give up....been exercising since mid January (ok maybe I missed a week or two)...but now I can keep up...and even pass them!!!
