Anorexics on MFP

I just saw one of my friends' friends had a pic of the skinniest sickliest legs ever.. I clicked her and some of her profile was open. She said things like "i distribute weight unevenly and even at 90lbs my legs were still chunky." In her inspirations she had
-Ana
-Thinspo
-My family telling me I eat too much

I feel so bad for her! I looked at her friends and it looks like she has a whole tonne of other anarexic girls on there. I had no idea that there would be a bunch of ana girls on here, counting their calories and finding other people with eating disorders to team up with...

So sad :(

Think MFP would like you to report them if you find them.

I found a girl yesterday and her goal was 76 pounds. It made me really sad. I don't think reporting them is going to do any good at all. They need help.

I don't think I could be what an Ana girl needs. She needs help that is close by, not a random online.

    Poor girls :(

reporting people is not the thing to do, who thinks they are the mfp police or even has a right to tell people what they can or cant do. its one thing that we have friends to walk this road with us but another thing to try and dictate what someone has or has not got.

It's actually in the ToS to not promote anorexia or eating disorders or unhealthy weight. So technically, since we all signed the ToS to join the website, MFP does have the right to say what people can and can't do on the site. And they have said that they rely on people reporting profiles and posts that are against the ToS.

so did this girl promote anorexia no, did she say we should all be anorexic no did she even say she was anorexic no, its more a case of people putting there noses into something that is none of there business , people should not add 2 and 2 and make 200.

Coming from a profile that seems quite happy to proclaim a sub 800 calorie/day diet....all I can say is Hmmmmm

THIS! they do need help, even if kicked off of here (If that is what would happen with them being reported) they will do it else where. :-/

Just try to befriend them and give them a push in the right direction, talk about how well you've done by keeping up a healthy diet.

I completely understand what you're saying about you not being a friend in real life, but sometimes even a stranger on the internet is better than nothing.
