Geez I just checked back to see if anyone told you because I was kinda wondering myself.
I looked up some info, and to me they don't seem better than normal chips (according to calories, fat, sodium, etc...). BUT probably better because they don't have all the UN-natural stuff in them though.0 -
Are they baked or fried?0

It's the same as potato chips.
The problem with them does not come from what it's made of ( a potato is still a vegetable ) but they way it's deep fried!0 -
Dr. Oz said baked chips are as bad as fried chips because they are high in salt to compensate the taste.0

wow! so basicly we need to stay away from chips:brokenheart:0

Try PC Blue menu flax tortialla chips? The texture is a little off, but they taste pretty alright, and the nutritionals are.. actually good! lol0

You can make your own, they take alittle time but make for a yummy snack. This is a basic recipe and will work for sweet potato chips too. I would watch the time I have not had to bake them for longer than 30 min at 400. Also for a little zip add some cayenne pepper.
Beet Chips
•4 beets, scrubbed -- do not peel
•1 Tbsp. olive oil
•Maldon sea salt to taste
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Using the slicing blade of your food processor, a mandoline or a sharp knife, slice beets thinly. You want them to be the size of a potato chip. Toss with olive oil and salt. Spread evenly on a cookie sheet or jelly roll pan. Roast 45 minutes to 1 hour, turning halfway through, until crisp. Check often to make sure they don't burn.
Makes 4 servings.

You can also make your own sweet potato chips! They are amazing!!! Just slice sweet potato very thin, drizzle a TINY bit of EVOO on (or even just use cooking spray) then sprinkle cinnamon/sugar/cumin/red pepper/etc-Anything you want! Then bake at 400 for 20-25 minutes-just make sure you watch! YUMYUM!:bigsmile:0
