Low fat chocolate milk after exercise--miracle cramp cure???

First, here's some research: http://www.fitnessmagazine.com/recipes/healthy-eating/superfoods/chocolate-milk-after-workout/
I've been cramping in my legs at night for several years: feet, thighs, groin (the worst because my hips are also out of whack) and other muscles too numerous to mention. One minute I'm sound asleep, the next minute, damn, that hurts.... I've tried stretching, massage therapy, lifts, you name it.
Long story short, about a month ago I started drinking about 4 ounces of low fat chocolate milk after my workout. Within about 2 weeks it dawned on me that I was having far fewer cramps at night. This may all be premature, but so far so good. Anyone else out there drinking chocolate milk after a workout? Have you noticed any changes.

Yep - frequently! If I don't drink a protein shake I usually drink 4-8 oz of low fat chocolate milk.
So yummy!
I had actually read somewhere (not this particular article) that it was a good post workout drink because of the protein/carb combinations. I sometimes have a protein shake now that I found some I actually like.0 -
I drink LF Chocolate Milk after most of my workouts...I use the research about it's benefits as a post exercise treat as an excuse! I love milk! My SO used to call me the milk lady when we started dating because he thought it was weird that I drank milk almost daily.0

Why just 4 oz? Seems like you're not getting enough protein or sugar with that small amount. I drink 16 oz, typically as a preworkout drink or right before bedtime if I didn't reach my protein number for the day. Don't know about it being a miracle cure for cramps, but it does help me power thru my workouts and I've been happy with my overall results since I added it. That's not all due to the milk, but overall the chocolate milk has been a positive.0
