I had a decent reentry to running week. I did mabe a 12 mile weel, which was a tad less than i should have but again it is a week where i am rebulding my stamina. I also did a massive hill which caused people to look funny at me...

I am really getting into the Christmas spirit now. I have been busy baking and decorating the house with the kids. There is snow on the ground and it has been icy cold outside. This makes for great hot tea drinking....but not so much for running.
I am a YMCA member and did get to the gym 5 days this week. I ran three 4 mile runs on the "hills" setting on the treadmill, so a total of 12 miles logged for me. The other two days I did the eliptical. Because I don't have any distance runs planned until the end of March. I will probably continue with this plan for a while.
My only concern; in MN the weather is so cold and the roads are usually icy/ snowy. Do you think I can actually improve my running by strictly using a treadmill (for the off season).

Average running week for me - 30 miles logged.
I'm not really doing any "long" runs right now. My longest this week was 6.5miles.
My official marathon training program begins on the 27th of December.0 -
I had been training for a 16.2 mile race that was scheduled for yesterday, but was cancelled due to ice. Since I'm not officially training for any events yet, I'll be keeping my runs on the treadmill...except for my long runs on Saturdays if the weather cooperates. Since I am super carb-loaded, I'll probably get a run in but I am definitely going to the gym. Need to get my rear in gear!0
