I moved from the south to New England and there isn't any proper barbecue here. It's sad. Not really something I can make myself or bring back with me, so I just have it when I go for a visit.
There is a horrible thing to miss out on! NO BBQ better than the south!0 -
im moved from Michigan to Mississippi and dearly miss our Kogel hot dogs! Whenever we drive back for a visit we always bring a bunch back with us.
Kogel's are the best! Serve the Curve! Especially at A&W in Michigan. Best. Coney. Dogs. Ever.0 -

We moved from Biloxi, MS to Fort Knox, KY and I miss crawfish and Barq's Red Creme Soda.... There is only one gas station near us that sells it and it's out of the way, but when we pass it up and we think about it, my husband will stop and grab me one. He's awesome. LOL0

I so miss good seafood. I'm afraid of seafood here in Kentucky. I guess catfish would probably be ok since they are on farms, but I won't dare do shrimp. LOL And YAY for southerners! haha People consider Kentucky the south, but this definitely isn't what I grew up with. No offense to the Kentuckians. haha I like it here, but it's not "home".0 -

When you move a state, a country or a continent away the food changes, not just the healthy stuff.
Some of it you can learn to make, some of it you find the equivalent and some you just can't figure out. Maybe someone here can help figure out how to make it.
I'm from the UK and missed Scotch Eggs, store bought Pork Pies, English Bread (yes it tastes different), English Heinz baked beans and Bacon.
Scotch eggs and Bread I can now make,
The pork pies are a mystery to me, how do you make that dark pastry!!!!
English Bacon I have to get when I get off the plane at Heathrow.
What can you not get where you are?
(I brought back Baked Beans last time I visited, the customs guy X-Ray'd my bag and said "Ah, Crisps and Baked Beans". I asked how he could tell from an X-Ray what was in the cans, he said after Crisps, Baked Beans are one of the most popular things Brits bring back to the US lol)
I live in the UK and hate all the foods you miss!! Lol
I'd gladly organise a constant supply if you can organise one to me for dim sims from Australia!! Ooooooo I miss them and in exactly 2 weeks I'll be on my way back to Aust for a holiday and will be indulging rather often in them! I miss Australia's top deck chocolate too.0 -

I miss greasy TexMex, specifically The Mexican Inn in Fort Worth (which I just heard closed anyway) even though I prefer more authentic Mexican here in CO, and I really miss fresh seafood from the east coast.
ETA: Whataburger!0 -
I forgot about the Tex-Mex... I love the Texas Mexican Food.0
-
From VA to OH and I miss those southern biscuits and gravy!0

Fom AZ to WI I miss Mexican food so much. I don't understand how "authenitc" Mexican places around here can get away with cheese sauce and chalupas on their menus!! It's a disgrace
And I miss Eegees!!!0 -
