I have been on MFP since last year July 2012.....I have lost 12lbs since then....I know I could have lost more but I keep getting off track and then back on.
This year I have decided to really make the change and nothing is going to stop me.......
The only thing that gets me discouraged is when I don't lose the weight FAST!!!!! Am I the only one that goes throught this lol?

For me when I was younger I could drop ten the first week and an additional ten the second then the loss would slow down. I could only DREAM of that now. I really have to look at it as if any loss is a good loss, even if I don't lose, I'm not gaining. I go through spurts where I lose well and steady and then slow down. This time I have made several changes and am not just dieting anymore. You can do this patience is key first and foremost. Best wishes!0

I am sure someone will debate me on this, but (health wise), you really don't want to lose weight fast - it wreaks havoc with your body and your health.
The best way is a slow, progressive loss - 1 to 1.5 pounds per week. You want to eat healthy, take in the right calories, not punish yourself and exercise.
I started my fit quest on New Years eve 2011 - 7 month later I am about 36 pounds down and the fittest I have been since my college wrestling days.
The 7 months went by fast it really did - and it has been really rewarding to see the progress and feel the healthy change in my strength, endurance, my taste for healthy foods etc.
Slow and steady and smart is the way to go in my opinion... just my opinion not gospel!0 -
