NSV: Mental Breakthrough

I was watching Dr.Phil shows that I DVR'd (haha don't judge me) and even though the shows had nothing to do with weight, some of what Dr.Phil said about accountability and control really hit home with me.
Even though it seems obvious, I have never really stated that it is MY OWN FAULT, that I am at the weight I am at. It is not caused by my boyfriend eating junk, my mom buying cookies, my boss asking me to stay late, my classes getting stressful, or the weather not cooperating with my workouts. These things all pose obstacles, but it is ultimately up to me to decide what I do and do not eat, and whether or not I work out.
It's much easier to blame outside sources for my problems, when really it all comes down to the fact that I'm lazy when it comes to enforcing rules on myself. I have all of the tools that I need; mfp online, mfp mobile app, good running shoes, a gym membership, a fridge full of healthy foods. The only thing stopping me is myself.
I know it's been said many times before but LOSING WEIGHT IS HARD, and I am never going to get anywhere if I keep giving up whenever things get hard and telling myself that I'll do better tomorrow. I am willing to push myself really hard in other areas of my life such as making the dean's list or learning spanish or practicing violin, but for some reason pushing myself to be healthy (which is honestly the most important of all of those things) just seems like I'm being mean to myself.
Everything I just said seems really obvious, but I've never actually sat down and thought about it before. I normally say that I am going to "try" to meet my mfp goals, but right now I am saying that I WILL meet my goals.

You rock! There are very few people in this world willing to admit to their downfalls in life, and that is the first step to achieving your goals. I don't know you, but I sure am proud of you!!!0
