I started it today and it was alot harder then I expected. I play alot of football so I'm relatively fit. Do you think I will get much from it? I'm using 10lb dumbbells to get a better work out

I'm enjoying it! and hey the ladies arent hard to look at! =)
  • I'm a guy and I've lost 6 pounds or so the first 20 days of it so I definitely find it helpful. My wife (who also is doing the 30DS) has said I look a lot slimmer.

The only downside is its kinda embarrassing when Jillian spurs you on by referring to jeans shopping or bathing suit shopping.

it was also surprisingly hard for me. did you start level one? try doing one for a week or so, and then just keep going up in level.

Yeh I started at level 1. I'm gonna do it for either 10 days or earlier if I feel I'm ready. Is there much difference?

Out of interest do you think this is enough, along with 3 x 60 minute football (soccer) matches a week and 2 x 40 min runs on the hills where I live? (Everton hills are quite steep). Do I need more weight training? I am not in a gym. Thanks
  • also, you sound like you're in a lot better shape than me, but i couldn't imagine using 10 lb dumb bells. I use 5 lb weights and even that kicks my *kitten* most times.

To be honest mate I sound like I'm in exactly the same boat as you. I started at 231lb and I want to get to 184lb which is a healthy BMI for 6ft. I'm currently 217lb after 3-4 weeks. I can already see its now dropping off more at the 2lb a week rate though after a quick initial loss. Exercise has never really been an issue, its my eating when bored that has made me overweight.

I used to eat when bored as well. I hate to say it, but I smoke half a cigarillo (never thought I'd be a smoker) or have a handful or 2 of sunflower seeds and some water when I'm craving food. I've lost 20 lbs in the past 2 months.

I'd just try it and see or perhaps use a heavier weight if its too easy.
