So I've been doing the couch to 5k deal sticking with it. Towas w4d3, and I was supposed to walk for 5 minutes, run for 9, and walk for 5. I'm at my parents house for the weekend and for the first time I could measure how far I was running because I know the distance between my parents house and the end of the road. I'm horrible at judging distances so I wanted to see if how far I was running.
Well I hit the 9 minutes and did .8 of a mile and decided I wasn't going to stop. I ran for 17 minutes, completing a mile and half. I've never gone over a mile before, never run more than 8 minutes and today I blew it outta the water. 4 weeks ago I could barely run for a minute. My not seem like much to some but right now I think I'm pretty freaking awesome. Just wanted to blow my own horn a little bit .

Congrats! I know how hard it is to push yourself and it makes the victories that much better! I am hoping to do c25k soon since I signed up for my first 5k at the end of September and you're helping to motivate me! Great job!0

That is AWESOME!!! What an awesome acheivement -- and it's NOT a little thing, it's huge!! I'm just starting out on my journey (again!) and I know how hard even a minute can be at the beginning. It's wonderful how far you've come -- thanks for the inspiration & KEEP IT UP!!0

That is great!
I am the same boat. For me running 2 minutes has been a challenge. I am only on Week 2 of C25K, but I have seen improvements. I can't wait until I can just run.
Again, great job!0 -
Yes you are awesome!
I did C25K also and I'm running 38 minutes 3-4 days a week. You will continue to be amazed with yourself, although running that first mile was the best feeling!0 -
That is so awesome! You should be very proud of yourself!!!:drinker:0

That is awesome!!! I am where you was about 4 weeks ago. I am now able to jog 2 minutes without stopping. I probably could do another minute, but I am to afraid to push myself that quick. I just started being able to jog 2 minutes straight for only 2 days now:blushing:
Keep it up!!! You are doing a wonderful job!!! Maybe one day I will try the Couch to 5k!!! Thanks for the motivation:flowerforyou:0 -
Terrific!!! I am so jealous. I have never spoken to anyone who has done this program and I am thrilled that it works. I want to run a 5K at Walt Disney World next January. After your report I am going to find that program near me and sign up.0

Thanks for all the congrats and encouragements. I know I've still got a little way to go but it makes all the difference knowing you can and breaking that mile the first time was amazing, you would have thought I won the lottery I was so excited. I've signed up for a 5k at the end of Septmeber and I can't wait til I'm at that point! Knowing how great it was to complete a mile, it'll be even greater to know I did a 5k!!0

Thanks again for all the kudos, I am still extremely excited about what I accomplished this morning. Can't wait to say I ran three miles. Anyone who wants to be a runner, who wants to try, couch to 5k has been awesome to me. Seriously, 4 weeks ago I was huffing and puffing after the first day. In just that short time I've worked up to this, it's amazing that my body can actually do that. I never thought I'd be capable but I love it. It's been hard, but I've still loved every minute of it. Thanks again for the encouragement, makes me want to get out and run again!!! Anyone trying this couch to 5k deal or doing it, or already did it, feel free to friend me. Always looking for advice or encourgement, and always willing to give it!!!0
