I had my first binge last night.

And I feel defeated.
I had a turtle brownie, frozen yogurt, and half of a General Tso's meal.
I just wanna go running until I burn off every last one of those terrible guilty calories.
I hate running, but I would do it because of how awful I feel. This is the first day out of the month I've been using MFP that I've just wanted to not eat.

You're fine, that's not bad at all. Enjoy your indulgences, just don't make them a daily habit.0

One day of overeating won't kill you. A lot of people work in a cheat day once a week where they can eat anything they want. Just get right back on track and go back to normal eating! You can do it!0

I think it's good to have a cheat day, I have one a week and sure I gain a pound or a half a pound but I'm able to drop it right back off the next day so try to enjoy one from time to time.0

Copycat. I had General Tso's chicken and rice last night. It was soooo good. But I digress. It put me over about 300 calories but one day isn't going to kill anyone. Just eat good today and don't worry about yesterday as if you could go back and change it.
At least you can go do some extra cardio today. I have a rib injury that prevents me from doing cardio or weights right now. So see, you're way better off than me. Now tonight my daughter is making those honey lime chicken enchiladas again. I'm leaving a 1,000 calorie hole in my diet to account for dinner tonight. :laugh:0 -
Don't beat yourself up. We still have to live our lifes. One night isn't going to kill you. To be honest...last night I stopped by a friends house for her chocolate bar party. Not sure what I was thinking...tons of chocolate latter I made it home. I felt a little sick to my stomach but, this morning I woke up and went for my run and did some free weights. I feel great now. I did log everything and I of course went over but, life goes on0

As a former binge eater I have to tell you-- just put it past you.
Like everyone else has said one day won't kill you. What's done is done, you can't change it. Just try not to let it happen again.
BTW if you think that's a binge then my oh my I would never share my binge stories lol0 -
Binges often cause a lot more psychological damage than physical. One day of overeating won't hurt your diet. You may put on a couple of pounds of water weight, so don't get on the scale for a couple of days if you're easily disheartened by the number.
But for me, it's the feeling of powerlessness and failure that does more damage. And I think it's really important to forgive yourself and move on after a binge, but you might also want to take a look at why you binged. Were you genuinely hungry? Are you missing out on important nutrients so that your body wanted to eat? Were you angry, sad, bored, self-sabotaging? If you can figure out why you binge you might be able to stop the next one.
Just my personal experience. Your mileage will vary, of course.0 -
I believe your post is out of context. This does not constitute as a binge. It might be considered a slip up in your program, but I'm fairly certain that binge-eaters would agree that you did not actually binge.0

Yeah. This is what my binges looked like:
1 Lb bacon
1/2 gallon OJ
Full loaf of bread
1/2 lb cheese
2-3 pints of haagen das (varied flavors)
3-4 bars of chocolate
that was my usual go-to binge but really I'd binge on whatever I had.0 -

You don't need to be perfect, just consistent. It is entirely likely that this has not dented your progress at all or if it has it is miniscule.
Just get back to your regularly scheduled programming and you'll be golden.

i don't think you can define a binge that still qualifies for everyone. I'm 6'3" and I'd probably feel the same way as the OP did eating that stuff. For me its not about "Going over or not going over my calorie goal." Its about the type of calories I consume.

You'll be fine, just like everyone has said, just work extra hard and don't do it again...0 -
One night of over eating is not going to destroy all your hard work. We all need to have days where we can just let go....I do this every Saturday, eat anything I want including desert.....you are going to be just fine....no worries0
