So Ive noticed as of lately Ive gotten really bored of meat in general and eat mostly vegetables I was told this would be categorized as a flexitarian which is someone who follows a vegeterian diet most of the time however does eat meat once in awhile and if I do eat meat it would be free range or organic . I just wanted to know have any of you adapted this lifestyle and how do you like it? What are some pro & cons and please note I do take vitamins as well
Thanks

I'm vegetarian now, but was flesitarian for about 5 or so years - I slowly transitioned to vegetarianism. Almost on accident.
I didn't cook meat at home but would eat it out on occasion, or would happily consume it if served as a guest in someone's home. Using that method I ate meat maybe once a week or so. At one point I realized it had been a year since I ate chicken so I decided to consciously cut that out of my diet. Beef was close behind. Bacon was hard to give up, but I eventually did and then finally fish.
Not sure I have any real tips about it. If you're tracking your nutrients here and getting plenty of protein (which is easy to do, by the way) then you're all set. Simply enjoy.0 -
I eat meat now but have gone months at a time as a vegetarian. Usually when I do eat meat it is from a local source. I get a lot of protein from eggs, greek yogurt, beans, cheese and things like that. Other than fish, I really don't miss it when I am not eating it (other than the occasional craving for bacon! haha). I find if I stick to vegetarian when I am out to eat or traveling for work I make much better choices and it is easier to eat healthy. While I obviously don't fit in the vegetarian category, my family and friends all comment on how little meat I eat, so I definitely feel like I fit into an inbetween category! haha0

I'm "almost" meat free since doing this diet and I LOVE it! I am so impressed by how good the meals can be and how much more veggies are finally going into my diet. Check out this website - the green pea pesto pasta meal is AMAZING!!

Oh! And about bacon! hehe
Try Morning Farm's. It's obviously not 100% identical to real bacon, but it is pretty dang close! I0
