HRM chest strap: above or below the "ladies"?

Okay, I always thought you are supposed to wear the strap below your breasts, approximately where your bra band is. I just read a HRM review and someone mentioned wearing it "above the ladies". What's the correct way?

Idk what the appropriate way to wear one is but I wear mine on top because the one time I tried to wear it under it rubbed me raw OUCH!

I have always worn mine under. That's what the photo in the instructions said to do (of course, it was a male model in the instruction booklet, lol).

It goes under the girls at the bra line.. Not on top.

I wear mine under - it sits right under the elastic band of my sports bra.

Under never even crossed my mind to wear it over, seems like that would be incredibly uncomfortable :ohwell:

I couldn't imagine wearing it over would be comfortable at all!

Edited: I've been wearing mine over without any discomfort, and I've got DDD's.
I had no idea that the heart was under the 'girls'!

I guess I'm even worse at anatomy than I thought... lol

It's designed to go under. HRM strap goes in the same place for men and women: On the chest / ribs just below the breasts / pectoral muscles.

I wear mine under, but it has rubbed my skin off. I may try over if I can get a read.

Under. You wouldn't get an accurate reading if it was worn over.

Under. That's where the user manual for the Polar FT7 says to place it. I'm not sure it could get an accurate reading in any other location.

Thank you everybody. I thought maybe I was doing it wrong, as I've always worn it under. It does seem that some people wear it above. You know, whatever works for people. I too think it would be more uncomfortable above.

The directions on mine say something about the sternum.
I did notice that when I put it on upside down once, the count seemed really low.
