I will admit, I have sleeping issues to begin with... But it seems that since I started exercising - after being sedentary for 3 months of unemployment - I have all this extra energy, and I'm having to adjust the time that I go to bed and wake up because I'm just not SLEEPY. My body is tired, but it's all energized. Is it just me?

I feel this way too!. I have decided that me hitting the gym twice in one day puts me to sleep though. You might have to wear yourself out!
  • When do you work out? If I work out in the morning, I have lots of energy during the day and sleep well at night. If I work out anytime after 3pm, I notice that I have a harder time sleeping.

this week it's been in the afternoon/evening... Maybe I'll have to try earlier and see if that helps. I know the exercise isn't the only variable, but I know it is one.
  • Nothing beats very, heavy weight-bearing exercise, for making me sleepy at night. Deadlifts. Squats. Full of awesome, and they make you lose weight a whole lot faster than cardio, or those silly little nautilus machines.

YES! since i started working out MORE, i actually have been taken off my sleeping pill!! I havent been without a sleeping pill in probably 10 years! My first week was rough because i simply wasnt tired, even with exercise, (because of exercise??) but then i found out i just wasnt doing enough! My body was flipping exhausted, but when i laid down.. EYES WIDE OPEN! So, i got up, did another 10 on the ellptical, showered, and went directly to bed. I got out my kindle, started to play a game and before i knew it.. i couldnt hold my eyes open! I did that for a week straight!

Once you start putting nutrition into your body, and you start working out, and you find your regiment.. you will learn what it takes to get you to sleep!

im the opposite! I have more energy after eating so about an hour after supper, i have a run on the elliptical! It also helps me burn those calories i just had!

I seem to have way too much energy now, too. It's amazing!! I haven't felt this good in so long. I love it!!! It is good but can have drawbacks, but they really are outweighed by the wonderful amount of energy I have. It almost seems some days that the more exercises I do, the more energy I have, no matter when I get it. :)
At first I was tired from the workouts, but now I can work all day (walking) and then I can ride bike for ages and then clean house or whatever, too. Maybe I just need to find an different exercise to do, also.

I'm thinking it's the time your exercising also ... I have not choice but to exercise in the afternoon due to my work schedule and always have a surge of energy in the evenings as a result.
