i just cant get below 12stone 9lb (177)

Hiya I dont get it once i get to 12st 9 i start putting weight back on until 12st 11 then i can stay there for ages. any ideas why im finding so hard to get below this weight. im looking at getting to 8st 8lb my healthy weight. im eating between 1200 t0 1700 a day and burning around 760-1000 calories a day,
I feel like im just not ment to get below 12stone 9

    i have the same problem, so annoying when you work so hard and do not see it drop.

    Have you tried cutting back on the carbs? I had a similar problem and went low carb for a while and that really helped.
  • I discovered its because I wasnt getting enough calories, and the trick was to eat more!!! It goes against everything you condition yourself to be when dieting, but it worked for me.
    I basically found a week where I had lost a normal amount of weight, i.e. 2lbs, and worked out the actual average daily calorie consumption. it turned out that the actual calories consumed on average per day of that week was 1575kcals, and my set goal that Id been trying to stick to was 1380kcals. So I adjusted my target calories, and instantly I began losing weight again.
    I think its harder if your exercising too, because you are effectively making it an absolute must to consume more calories, to offsett the ones you burn when you exercise. It sounds to me like your body is going into starvation mode and hanging on to its reserves.
    I know it sounds crazy, but try eating more, especially when you exercise.

  • I had a similar problem, coudn't get below 73.3kg just kept going up half a pound and loosing the same half pound. This happened for about 3 weeks. I decided to up my calories plus did some swimming instead of just walking and its already working for me. Hope you find a solution :)

    I have seen a couple of times when I was just unable to get below a certain weight. For several days I was the same weight - not up and not down.

    Eventually, I got past that. Oddly enough it does seem that eating a little more (still below the daily allowance) made me break past that plateau.

    It still seems odd that sometimes I need to eat more to lose weight.
