Hoping you can shead some light on eggs for me. Whay is there a difference in the number of calories depending on how any egg is cooked. The diary log comes up with 92 calories in a fried egg, 211 calories in a hard boiled eg and 365 calories in a scrambled egg. Isn't an egg and egg?

Thanks

Those numbers don't make sense. An egg is an egg, some might have things added like cooking oils so that could be why a fried egg is 92 cals. I just log an egg as 70 cals, then add the oil seperately. No matter how you cook it, an egg is an egg, it doesn't change how many cals are in it unless you add/subtract yolks/whites.

an egg is about 70 calories.

a fried egg in the database may contain oil in the pan in the entry

    a scrambled egg too...

a hard boiled egg is STILL just 70, the entry you saw is wrong.

log your eggs on one line as whole raw eggs
then add any oil or butter used on a separate line.

When searching the MFP database, a lot of the options have to do with what you are preparing it with, like cooking spray, canola oil, olive oil ect. I would type in raw egg or plain boiled egg ect. When I eat my egg whites in the morning I type in boiled egg white and it comes to 17 calories

I also just log it as 70 calories and log anything added separately.

An egg is an Egg, usually in at 68 calories for large, I think I saw 55 for a medium egg.

I've been struggling with the "cooked" ingredients because they add to many things I don't so go with the raw ingredients and if you fry it, add a few calories, but not that many.
