question for success stories

I'm beginning to worry about excess/hanging skin after I lose weight... here's what I mean... I've lost 30lbs since January (started MFP in the middle of the process, that's why my ticker is off a little ) and my arms and stomach are starting to...well...sag... I'm a 25 year old girl and I'm getting married next June and I'm worried that maybe I weigh a little more due to my skin sagging/hanging? Is there a procedure to remove this and about how much does it cost, if anyone knows?
The reason I'm asking this in success stories is because I swear when I look at all your photos, no success stories ever seem to have this problem :flowerforyou: I'm hoping that maybe that will happen to me when I'm officially at goal

I think you should try strength training! It will help you tighten up as you lose weight. Theres a book called The New Rules of Lifting for Women, I think you should look into it. I'm gonna start doing it later this month. Good Luck! And congrats on the wedding!!0

thanks for the tip on the book! I'm definitely going to have to look into that!
reading is actually what made me get into FINALLY losing weight... as cheesy as this sounds, I read "Chicken Soup For the Soul" one of the weight loss editions... REALLY opened my eyes that losing weight didn't have to seem so colossal.
and thanks for the congrats :happy:0 -

Take it slow, give your skin time to recover. Also, keep hydrated, and I second the lifting suggestion. Just because lifting is awesome.0

Take a multi-vitamin. Do strength training. Don't lose too quickly. Gently exfoliate/massage/moisturize skin daily (all 3). Avoid the sun/wear sunblock at least while you are losing weight. Drink lots of water. All these things are important when trying to get your skin to "keep up" while you lose weight.0

i think the bigger you are to start and how fast you get down to where you want to be matter! if you are quite large the possibility that skin removale surgery will be needed! if your a bit smaller weight and strength train to pull it all in.from what i understand....if you pinch the parts your talking about and its thin...its skin, if you pinch and its thick its fat and can be burned and toned. i started at 200 and now 160 see some major sagging in my belly (3 kiddos)....but its thick so it gives me hope that there is just more work to do!0
