Smoothie, Soup, Salad Diet

Hello All,
I have followed Eat to Live type eating styles in the past but have recently gotten much more lax with my eating. I always feel better when I am following a mostly Vegan, plant based diet plan. Currently, I have at least 10lbs to lose but I am small boned so more would be even better. In the past when I wanted to lose weight I very strictly followed this plan:
Breakfast: Green Smoothie, Lunch: Green Salad topped with low fat bean salad, Dinner: Amy's canned soup and a slice of toasted Ezekial bread
Of course, lunch and dinner could always swap. The last time I followed this plan I lost 8lbs in 10days. I was also exercising 5days/week. Then, due to a break up, I became emotionally unhinged and completely fell off the wagon. Had this not happened, I think I could have stuck to the plan and continued to lose and be successful.
I just wanted to throw this out there for opinions and also to share the success that I have had in the past. I am starting down this path again today and will update with my progress.

Unless you can maintain this "diet" for the rest of your life, you're only setting yourself up for failure. Sure, you'll lose the weight, but just as easily gain it back, and then some most likely.
Instead of "dieting" with such restriction (that just doesn't seem like enough food or variety to me), just focus on eating healthy/within your calories, and exercise. That's all it takes.
But, if that plan is what makes you happy, go for it. Whatever works best for you, that's what it's all about.

I was thinking maybe once I reach my goal weight I could loosen it up a bit. I am naturally a very healthy eater, I love plant based foods and have been vegan on and off (starting today-back on So I do see it as something that can transition to lifestyle change.0
