59 and more active then ever!

I am so excited about this journey as well as just being part of mfp. I want to encourage others my age especially because I don't see too many on the boards/forums. But I know there are many that have accounts but not active, yet:)

I am walking on a regular basis because I love a slower pace and also, love the outdoors! I do pushups now and adding in some weights. Slowly but surely. I also ride my bike but I find I enjoy walking the most. In fact when I do ride the bike I get off and walk a lot, so far, since I can't make it up some of our steeper hills in this area. But I keep the hrm going:wink:

Now, I have scored a raft for the upcoming Pepsi Float and I will go it alone if I don't find anyone to go with me:) Most of the problem finding someone else to go is either they have family, or are not active. I asked my best friend from highschool and she was so closed to the idea of going down the river. I admit it just made me sad because of all the fun times we had. Life doesn't end when you are 59 years old. Only if you die. I am feeling more grateful that I can actually still do things I thought were all a thing of the past. I know some have health issues and I am so sorry for that but at the same time, I am so proud of those here on mfp that have things like fibro and osteoporosis, cancer survivors! The list goes on. Those are the real heros here.

I hope some peeps my age will see this and get in touch with me as I want to encourage you all!! I know that every time I encourage someone else, I get it back 10 times over! I guess it is sort of a "pay it forward" thing.

I also am beginning to believe that age is a number(kinda like that unreliable bathroom scale). STEP AWAY FROM THE AGE number:laugh: when it comes to health and fitness AND activities!!

Thanks again MFP! denise:drinker: :drinker:
