Today is 180 days into my new life. I am 36 lbs lighter and 100% happier! I am still working to lose at least another 10 lbs, but I definitely feel like I can tackle anything.

One of the NSV's that I have had at this point happened this past Friday. I threw my husband a huge going away party (he left out for Afghanistan this morning...sigh). Anyways, lots of people attended and many I had not seen since starting this journey. I received so many compliments and everyone just couldn't get over how I looked. Several told me that I looked like I did back in high school, I turned 40 in January. So many wanted to know exactly what I did to get to where I am now. I shared my story...counting calories and exercise. It's crazy how I have heard that all my life, but you must practice it for it to actually work.

Anways, I thought I would share that it is possible to feel better about yourself. You just have to make the decision and go for it! Good Luck to everyone!

My husband is a contractor. He just got the position two and half weeks ago and left this morning...it has been a whirlwind couple of weeks. This a first for us, so I have had a really hard day with lots of tears. We been together for 22 years, married 18, and I have never been away from him for this long. He will be returning in 5 months, which I do realize I'm blessed for that since many go over for longer periods than that. Thank goodness for technology!

    Thanks everyone!

I get that completely. I'd only been married for a few months when my husband had to leave for Iraq (as a Marine). My brother-in-law is doing contract work in Afghanistan right now, as well. It's really tough to have them go away for so long.
