Hiya
Has anyone any idea how I can calculate calories burned running cross country. I'm just starting out and the routes I take are off road. I ran a couple of miles today but that involved 400 ft of assent and running on muddy paths and quite boggy grass. Is there a simple conversion factor I can use for the MFP calculations or perhaps someone can point me at a page with accurate formulas
Yours hopefully
Dave

Use a heart rate monitor. It will give you the most accurate reading. You are braver than I! I'm pretty sure I would break something running off road!0

a good heartrate monitor would give you a final tally, it would gauge this on how hard or easy your heart would be working thus recording your exercise, You probly know this0

Hay, thanks both for the advice. I haven't got a decent hrm yet but I think I'll get one for my birthday :-) It makes sense and will show me what is really going on :-)0
