Lost my motivation...need help finding it again

I lost about 20-23 pounds earlier this year. My overall goal is 40, but I've completely fallen off the wagon the last 3-4 months. I still log in and track my eating (which fortunately is still ok, since I have not put on weight). But I totally stopped working out (after a week long illness). The sad part is, I thought I had finally gotten used to it and had it as part of my daily routine.

Simultaneous with the slowing down and then stopping the workout was my frustration with taking off and putting on the same 2-3 lbs per week. I've gone round and round with the same 3 numbers on the scale - i can never seem to get past the lowest one and this seems to really have stifled me mentally. This came at the same time as turning 40, another mental stumbling block...

Now I find myself at a loss as to where to start again.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'd really, really like to hit my goal before the year is out.

Maybe start by making a list of all the reasons you want to lose weight. Then how your life has improved by the weight you've lost. And also how good you will feel by meeting your goal.

I keep a diary and read it when I need inspiration. I try to remember how far I've come and that I dont want to go back!
