Ok heres the thing, just wanted to know if anybody else eats the calories back that they burn whilst exercising? I try to eat some of it, but someone has told me not to..... Very confused as to whats the right way to go.

Depends on your daily calorie goal settings. If you're set at 1200 a day, then yes, I would eat my exercise calories back. If you don't, and you eat 1200 calories, and burn say, 300 in exercise, that leaves you with a net of only 900 calories for the day - which isn't very much. You may lose weight that way for a while, but may eventually 'hit the wall' and stop losing the weight, feel tired and have less energy - your body needs fuel!

There's a great topic here that walks you through figuring your calorie intake based on your goals, and helps you set up those reasonable goals: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/654536-in-place-of-a-road-map-2-0-revised-7-2-12

It's a great companion to MFP and really helped me figure out what I should be eating, and what margins to stay in each day as far as how much to eat.

Biggest issue I have with eating back the calories is knowing how much to eat back. Even the best hrm only offers a rough guess regarding calories burned. I prefer to let my body tell me how much more eat on workout days as oppose to a hrm, or MFP. If I feel fine not eating the extra calories, I don't.
