Boredom eating

Hi all,
I'm a boredom eater. Particularly of the evening, when I'm not working. If I can keep my self busy, I'm OK, but let my mind wander, and I occupy myself with whatever is in the fridge or cabinets. I don't buy much "unhealthy" food, and I can binge on fruit and veggies.
Anything I can do to circumvent my issue?

I spoke to my Dr about this exact same issue. She said if you know you're not eating because you're actually hungry, drink water. She said the water will make you feel full and satisfy that "hunger." So far that has helped me.0

I am a recovering boredom eater For me, I drink black decaff coffee in the evening hours to keep me from eating. My oldest daughter doen't drink coffee and she brushes her teeth early in the evening. This is her motivation not to eat.0
