So here is my dilemma MFP friends- I work out at least 5 days a week- mostly an hour of cardio with sprints included and half an hour lifting weights.I burn about 500 calories during a cardio work out. I think the problem is I eat like I regularly do. Is there something I need to do- because all this working out and no weight being lost is such a let down.
I am trying to lose at least 40 pounds by the end of 2012-preferably by my b'day in October.........
Please give me your input- and share with me your weight loss story on how you did it!
Thank you!

Can't see your diary so not sure how to help you. Most likely if you haven't changed your eating habits, then it's a good indication why you haven't dropped weight, however, if you've been working out like mad, then you should be losing inches. I'd take measurements if I were you, but seriously consider changing your eating habits for the better Small changes make all the difference!0

Mostly it is accomplished through food logging and creating a calorie deficit day after day. Though exercise is great for you and can help contribute to that deficit.0

We'll need to know A LOT more about your diet before we can offer any meaningful advice.
For now, get your BMR and TDEE, track your calories via the tools available on this site, AND track your protein. If you are lifting weights, you'll need to ensure you get enough protein to help build muscle.0 -
It doesn't matter how much you 'burn' - it is how much you eat that matters. By being honest and logging everything, this should help you to see what you are doing 'wrong'. If you eat more than your body needs you will never lose any weight.
Good luck
