As far as I know the 'macos' are your various nutrients and food components
The concept is simple. Work out your calorie needs, then ensure your 'macros' are such that you receive the correct amount of what you need. i.e protein, fat, carbs, etc
Your individual macro needs will depend on many factors though, such as your lifestyle, goals etc0 -
It means your carbs, fat, protien. By adjusting them you can help your weight loss. Some people are on a lower carb diet or a high protien. In addition to watching the calorie count you try to keep those macros in line as well. I can not recommend one way or the other as to what they should be % wise. It all depends on if you are lifting or have other health issues.0

Food is made up of components called nutrients. There are two basic kinds of nutrients, those you need very small amounts of (called MICRO-nutrients, also known as vitamins and minerals), and those you need larger amounts of (MACRO-nutrients, or "macros"). Most of the energy your body needs to function comes from macronutrients.
There are three classes of macronutrients; fats, carbohydrates, and proteins. Simply put, each one serves a purpose in feeding the body in different ways.0 -

Yes, so your macronutrient needs will be individual, you may be dieting, trying to gain muscle, training for a marathon, pregnant, growing, etc (hopefully not all of these!)0
