Which ones work? Which ones don't??

I just got the "Biggest Loser - Cardio Max" and tried it out a couple nights ago. Was thinking afterwards, that wasn't so bad, but the next morning felt like someone went over me with a tire iron. It was good though.

Have a old Jane Fonda step aerobics tape which is good, and I'm going to order a "Belly Dancing for Beginners" as soon as I can find some old WWII black out curtains to hang around the house.

  • :drinker: The one armed curl up seems to be doing it for me! Haha no but really, I bought the "Beverly Hills" something or other. It has yoga, pilates, general streching and one called brand new butt. I can only do about 20 min of the brand new butt, its really kicks mine! It seems to be working though.

even though they dont really give you a workout(in that sense but later it does if ya know what I mean) i like the carmen electra's striptease videos they are just fun and kinda get ur heart rate up and improve flexibity and range of motion, but not good for a mega burn. It does also make you feel confident and sexy...but as for a burn I go with anything Jillian Micheals

I was in the market for an exercise ball, so I purchased a Reebok Core Strengthening kit from Target. This included the ball two 3 lb weights & a DVD for the same price as the ball alone at other stores.

The DVD included is awesome!!! It shows pilates workouts using the ball. You can workout with the video if you want or you can pick & choose the exercises you want to do. I was completely impressed... for less than $30 - it was a great deal!!!

Favorite - Leslie Sansone's walking tapes, really simple but gets you sweating!

Least Favorite - Dancing with the Stars cardio workout, whoa, it was way too hard for me! They were saying "this move" then "spin" then "different move" and "with arms" and I sat down and watched it from the sofa!

Loving Turbo Jam! I bought just one, the punch, kick, and jam one on ebay for like 10 bucks. Does the trick, I love it, and WAYY cheaper than the whole package for like 70 bucks.

My mom got me into Richard Simmons Sweatin' to the Oldies video awhile ago and that's the only one I've tried. I got bored of the routine and gave up on it after a few weeks.

I have the Turbo Jam series....Love em! Especially when I am needing to get out agression.

I also love Hip Hop Abs (if anyone knows what that is). Works you out while you dance and still gets a sweat going.

    Random side note:
No one laugh....I bought a Cardio Twist I saw in an infomercial and all I can say is WOW....26 minutes and I was sweating all over! We'll see if it was worth the money tomorrow if I can't walk. ;)

Turbo Jam is fun! Also I haven't tried the Zumba tapes, but I am taking a Zumba class and it is awesome! Also if you can find the older Firm tapes, specifically Volume 1-3 those are absolutly hands down the best tapes ever! They were made in the 80's but seriously you really do get visible results in 10 workouts!

I like the biggest loser dvds - all of them, but especially the segments with Bob. I also like most of Rodney Yee's yoga tapes. I think the Yoga for Weight Loss by Gaiam is good for beginners. I've liked Tae Bo, but most are too short for me. Another advantage of Bob and Yee is that they are easy on the eyes.

Okay "Turbo Jam" chica's....just placed a ebay bid for some dvds!

If it kicks my butt like I think it will I'll be too sore to come after ya!

Any of the Beach Body series are fab (Turbo Jam, P90x, Slim'N Six) they really are great!!! Not sure if any of you have in demand cable with the fitness channel but that is the best way to try them out and they have probably over a 100 on there, anything from walking to abs to getting ready for your wedding. My new fave is the Jackie Warner (Bravo's Workout Star) they are tough and really give you a great ab, leg, and arm work-out!

I'm another Turbo Jam freak! :blushing: I have most of her DVDs and I love all of them. Whats good about them also, besides the kick butt workout, is that they are all different in time length and difficulty so I can do one every day, no matter how I feel! I am a good one for the "I don't feel good today, I just won't exercise" excuse, but I really don't have any excuses now...I can put in the 20 minute work out and still get great cardio. Also, Chalene Johnson's energy like feeds you through the TV. If I'm not pumped when I start, I am by the time I'm done because she is CRAZY! Okay I'm done babbling now.. Good luck on those TJ dvds! I know you'll love them.

Wow, all those posts and not one person mentioned TAEBO! That is my absolute favorite workout video! I think because I"m lazy, so I want to get as much done in as little time as possible. It works both your cardio and your muscles. I used to religiously the first time I lost weight and I shed inches off like crazy! Plus it makes you feel like you could kick someones butt if they messed with you! Very empowering. So I recommend trying it, I bet you'll love it too.

Agreed with Kak -- the Jackie Warner series on FitTV is pretty great. My only issue with it is that she keeps saying "we're going to do this for 60 seconds" but really it only lasts for 30 seconds. Maybe they truncated it because it's just a sample program?

I also do Biggest Loser on FitTV and will be buying the DVD's shortly.

I agree that Taebo videos are fantastic! I have been working out regularly for a long time, and I still find them challenging. I got the Boot Camp series a few months ago...I like it, but I must admit it is both comical and occasionally painful to get used to using the Billy Bands. I still get tangled or snapped sometimes! LOL. I typically stick with the regular Taebo workouts unless I am feeling brave!
