I personally am not a fan of them. I've heard where they may cause cancer etc and they taste awful so i say i'd rather have a little sugar and risk being a little chubby than consuming something that i dont think tastes good and could be bad for my health in the long run.0

I was just watching dr oz today and the doctor on there said that the fda took the warning label off of them because they dont cause cancer in humans and the studies was only found in animals, and that they dont cause neurological damage, this was news to me as i had heard they were unsafe.0

I avoid at all cost. Besides, they taste terrible.0

One or two a day wont hurt you at all. The initial findings that they cause cancer were done in rats. and they were given rediculus amounts of aspartame per day proportional to their body weight. Funny enough..you started this thread because you have heard mixed reviews, and recieved opposite responses. This just shows you that everyone has a different belief, and you just need to make your own descision0

thanks all! i mean i've tried agave nectar but its just not always readily available! neither is honey. when you go to get coffee or tea outside of your home, its just all so confusing. i also don't like the taste of most artificial sweetners, especially sweet and low. yuck but am a little afraid to pour some sugar in my tea0

exactly which is why the topic is so confusing! lol.. i've done some research on it and the same thing.. what do you all use?0

Xylitol is natural and tastes much nicer (IMO) than Stevia or artificial stuff...0

I've actually just started cutting it out. Yesterday was my first day sucralose free and pretty much any of the stuff. I still use stuff with stevia but not in too much of what I eat.
There are just so many conflicting studies. I have noticed though the correlation between using them too much and just endless cravings. I don't really know what to believe as far as the effects but I was reading up on studies about it decreasing the amount of healthy bacteria in your stomach. Who knows with all the different conclusions out there. Kind of why I just decided to cut it. I want to see how cutting it out works for me.0
