why would you let the way someone else looks make you deppresed? You cant shrink accept the fact that you are not 5'2. You will never be happy if you spend your life comparing yourself to others.0

You can never be anyone other than who you are,you need to find the good in you. Untill you do even if you were 5'2 and 100 pounds you would still be unhappy.
Keep in mind also there are probably just as many people wishing they were your hight an weight as well. You should never hate yourself0 -

Don't ever compare yourself to other people! I've learned that the hard way. I'm 22 also and have had 2 children as well. The girls at your school have probably never had children before. Your body changes after you have children so you can't possible compare yourself to teens who have never had children. I was a size 1 before I had my kids. And I went up to a size 5 after I had them and that's where I should be now. But right now I'm actually between a 9 and 11 because I let my birth control and hormones get the best of me. But don't ever compare your body to someone else. It's not healthy. We all wish we were perfect but I'm sure you look fantastic as your are. There are a lot of woman your weight that have gorgeous bodies and flat bellies. Weight is just a number it doesn't define how you look. Don't kill yourself over it.0

thanks for the positive words0

I'm 5'7" and I used to feel that way when I was younger. Honestly a lot of it is about the height, not the weight. It's easy to feel gawky around those cute, petite little things. But over time I've gotten a different perspective - we're not extremely tall but when you're around them you can feel like a tall, graceful supermodel.0

I am 5'7 and 177 lbs and I know the feeling.0

I know that feeling all to well. It is easier said then done in not compairing yourself to others.0

5'3.5" and 192 pounds. I feel your pain. I compare myself to every other girl I see and it's depressing that the vast majority of them look so much better than me, even after I lost 56 pounds. I've come so far but not far enough for me to start feeling better about myself. Then again, I was fat since I was 10 so I never got to be the cute thin girl in school. >.<0

If it makes you feel better, you weigh what my goal is. I'm also 5'6". Besides, your value is not found in what you weigh. What makes you unique? What do people love about you? What amazing things are you contributing to this world? Those are the things that matter.
No good ever comes from comparing yourself to others. :flowerforyou:0 -
If you don't like where you are...then make a change.0

Don't worry - most of us short girls are envious of the taller ones. I'd kill to be 5'6".0

Me too I am aiming for 160
Be proud, be confident in your height, hold your head up and love yourself and you will give out a positive vibe that other people will envy0 -
Hi there, alexandra0690. I also happen to be 5'6", and I'm 28 and a half right now. I'm sorry to hear that you're depressed about your weight. I'm sure there are lots of people in the world who are in a WORSE place than you. I happen to be one of those people.
Although your current weight is 158 lbs, it may comfort you to know that you are STILL 42 lbs LIGHTER than I currently am.
There may even be some girls your age who currently weigh 258 or even 358!!! As for the 5'2" 18 year olds you see at school, DO NOT automatically assume that they have healthy habits. For all we know, they might be suffering from an eating disorder like
anorexia nervosa or bulimia. No matter what, don't let yourself fall into that trap!!! Anorexia is deadly - period!!! Furthermore, even some of the athletes headed to the London Olympics may have been overweight as children. Here's the bottom line: it's not a
person's love handles, but the way he/she treats others that REALLY counts!!!
P.S. Please excuse the appearance of my reply. I don't know why, but it really turned out like..... well, you know0 -
Wait a minute?? You have 2 kids and you only weigh 158#??? What is the problem?? You go girl!! I think you have an excuse to be a little overweight, you're probably overworked too. These 100# girls probably don't have half the stress you do. Just try to lose a little at a time and maintain.0
