Hey guys,
I'm looking to invest in a food scale soon, but I don't want to break the bank. I could use one but would like to stay under the $25 range. I've been looking at Amazon but nothing seems like a quality choice. Any help?

I rarely need to weigh so I use a postal scale and weigh the bowl or plate empty then again with the food on it. Just another idea. Mine is from a yard sale ;) but I think free deals can be found on those for people who sell on ebay etc. That's why I got it in the first place.

I bought a $4 analog scale at first, then upgraded to a $15 digital scale from Target. I've been using it for two years with no issues, but it does kind of eat batteries. I bought my MIL an expensive, highly rated scale from Amazon for Christmas and while it does look somewhat sleeker, it gives me the exact same readings. A good scale should have, at a minimum, a tare/zero function and g/oz measurements. If it has lb/kg as well, that's awesome.

I got mine at Bed Bath & Beyond for less than $20. It's digital... Taylor brand Biggest Loser model $19.99 but I used a 20% off coupon so it was cheaper

Some day I want to buy a lab quality balance with like +/- 0.0001 g precision, a hot plate with magnetic stirrer, a separation flask, and a thermal immersion circulator... Oh, many things. I'm a lab geek.

I have this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001N07KUE/ (5 stars with over 3500 ratings)

I got it for $25 with free shipping. Have had it for 2 months, and I use it everyday. No complaints.
