Butt Exercises: Isolation Vs. Compound

I've heard conflicting things about what are the best exercises to obtain your best butt. Some say that isolation exercises like glute bridges and hip thrusts are best and target the glutes more. Then I've heard that compound exercises like squats and deadlifts are better than the isolation ones because they don't cause your glutes to get too small. Some much conflicting information about how to go about targeting the glutes. Can anyone shed some light on this? Thanks.

Thanks to squats and lunges I actually have a defined butt now instead of a butt/thigh combo.

I need to take a picture and post it at some point..

I'll bet the compound exercises will get faster results.
Lots of people worry about women getting big muscles. Most women really do not get big. Look at Jamie Eason and some of the famous CrossFit women. They work out a lot; their muscles are developed, but not big. Only some women can get big, and they have to work at it, very hard and with conscious intent.

Yeah, I actually do all of the abovementioned exercises and have improved my butt tenfold, lol. I just posed the question because I was curious to see what type of exercises targeted the glutes better as there seems to be two different schools of thought on it. Thanks.

I do them all and notice a big difference. If I'm pressed for time, I'll do the big lifts only, if have time , I do the glute bridges or hip thrusts.

Just to clarify, there are no strength training exercises that can actually make a muscle smaller. Muscles only get smaller through a combination of malnutrition and atrophy.
